ISLAMABAD, (TLTP) : Supreme Court on Tuesday formed a five-member larger bench to hear Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former privatization minister Danyal Aziz appeal against his conviction and subsequent disqualification from contesting elections over a contempt-of-court case.
The bench which will hear the appeal on Wednesday, comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Munib Akhtar.
It is worth mentioning that the Supreme Court had convicted Daniyal Aziz in contempt of court matter on June 28 while awarding him a sentence until the rising of the court. Consequently, he was disqualified for a period of five years under Article 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
