A three-member bench of apex court headed by Chief Justice (CJ) Saqib Nisar on Friday has conducted the hearing of the sue moto notice about the recent hike in fees of medical colleges on Friday in supreme court registry Lahore.
The CJ and head of three member bench during the hearing has observed that fees should not be increased to great extent as it create burden on pockets of the people adding that Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) need to audit its account. The court should be told that which facilities are provided to medical colleges.
“Dr. Nadeem Zafar told me that some doctors are coming which do not know how to check the blood pressure. Five children have died and who will be the responsible and now inquiry of this incident would be conducted”, CJ added.
Later, CJ has visited the Services Hospital Lahore and Punjab Institute of Cardiology and reviewed its various departments.
